New Packaging Commencing With The Release Of The 2008 Okanagan Aromatics

Gordon Fitzpatrick, President of CedarCreek Estate Winery, is pleased to unveil their new packaging commencing with the release of the 2008 Okanagan aromatics; Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Ehrenfelser.  The new look coincides with CedarCreek combining their regular varietal wines with the Estate Select series to reduce the number of different tiers by one.  Commenting on this change, Tom DiBello, Winemaker, stated "We will now craft just two tiers of elegant wines which will decrease our number of SKU’s from 24 to 16.  I am looking forward to concentrating on fewer wines, besides it was becoming more difficult to delineate differences between the tiers due to better grapes.  We have also invested in a new Alfatek bottling line which will further improve our quality and enable us to go Stelvin for everything but our Platinum wines.”

This focus is driven by CedarCreek's investment in their four unique vineyard sites from Kelowna to Osoyoos totaling 150 acres on benchlands overlooking the lakes of the Okanagan Valley.  CedarCreek's grape sourcing has improved dramatically over the years due primarily to their own estate grown fruit.  As a result the wines continue to improve after 22 years of pioneering efforts by the Fitzpatrick's and Tom DiBello entering his tenth vintage as winemaker at CedarCreek.

Since winning Canada's Winery of the Year, for a second time in 2005, CedarCreek was runner up in 2008 and finished third and fourth in 2007 and 2006 respectively.  Commenting on this consistent quality, Gordon Fitzpatrick stated "We have been production driven, investing in vineyards and the cellar, to craft what we believe are the very best wines in the Okanagan.  In fact, we believe our wines are as good as any made in the world, but we will prove that, rather than claim it.  And the results show in every bottle.  On that, you have our word."

CedarCreek is excited to more aggressively market the winery and they will put the same passion into building the brand as they do in crafting world class wine.  Gordon Fitzpatrick noted that, "There is a wonderful opportunity to build an iconic premium B.C. Brand that over delivers in every way.  For example, we will blend our Estate Select Merlot, currently at a retail price of $30 per bottle, with our regular Merlot at $20 per bottle and deliver it to the consumer at $19.90.  This will be the finest Merlot at under $20 imaginable and it will be readily available at fine restaurants and retail stores."

CedarCreek has refined the look of their labels to reflect the essence of their brand, "Honest Elegance" and made sure that the Platinum label is more distinctive.  On the back label there is a short story under the heading, "Our Wine is our Word" noting something extra that CedarCreek does to make the wine special.  CedarCreek looks forward to continuing to raise the wine bar and dedicating more time and effort to tell our story.
